I am Takahiro Yamamoto, the newly appointed President & CEO of Taiyo Oil.
Since its founding in 1908, Taiyo Oil has traversed numerous upheavals in the social environment, both large and small, including two world wars and oil shocks, but the company has overcome these difficulties thanks to the efforts of our predecessors.
On the other hand, the social issues we are facing today, including climate change, are unprecedented in scale and complexity compared to the past.
In particular, realizing Japan's energy policy stance of simultaneously achieving energy security, economic efficiency, and environmental compatibility with safety as a major premise requires a steadfast focus on the society we aim for while observing but not being unduly swayed by social mood, which is greatly affected by international situations and natural disasters, as well as the constantly changing environment, such as exchange rates and energy prices.
In 2008, to celebrate its centennial, Taiyo Oil launched the new brand SOLATO, which is informed by our strong commitment to “energy for this planet and its people.” The name SOLATO combines two words, “solar” and “tomorrow.”
The tomorrow envisioned by SOLATO is not an irresponsible one from which we will be absent.
Together with all of you, Taiyo Oil will treasure each day as we work dedicatedly toward a vibrant tomorrow full of vitality on this beautiful planet.
